I see the hidden beauty in the unobvious, the ‘ugly’ and the offbeat. I paint what speaks to me and hope to share that inspiration with the viewer.
Meet Kyrie Levington, the artist behind the art.
Kyrie is British, born in 1964, and grew up in the U.K.
Ever a creative child she chose to focus on ballet at the age of 11 and went to The Arts Educational School, Tring.
At 16 she continued her training in London at the Ballet Rambert School and the Central School of Ballet, before embarking on her career as a contemporary dancer.
She worked mainly in London as a freelance dancer before emigrating to South Africa in 2002.
Once here she started a new career as a Pilates Instructor and now runs a successful studio in Johannesburg.
However, her talents as a serious Artist were left rather unexplored until several years ago.
She has since been attending art classes on a regular basis.
Now considering herself as ‘An Emerging Artist’ she is selling work and taking commissions.
